Voyagers Guidelines

Who can join:  Membership in good standing with in Eagle’s Nest is a prerequisite for participating in Voyagers. The Voyagers Co-Op is designed for kindergarten through middle school students with a fun, structured environment for preschool Voyagers siblings.

What we are:  Voyagers was started over 17 years ago to enrich the education of elementary and middle school-aged children by offering group setting classes and giving our children an opportunity to try things Mom and Dad might not do at home. It is a wonderful place to meet other homeschoolers and make friends.

Voyagers isn’t just for the children, it’s for parents too! Mom or Dad must participate by either teaching or assisting in a classroom during one of our two class sessions each semester.

Past classes have included President’s and Constitution, Sports and Games, P.E., Natural Disasters, Pioneer Life, Build It, Robotics, Presidential Campaigns Rock, Native Americans, Exploring Space, and many, many others. All classes are taught from a Christian perspective. Our classes vary each semester.

When: We have two semesters each school year with each semester meeting once a week for 10 weeks on Thursdays from 12:45 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Annual Fee: A $45 Annual Family Fee will be paid by all families. This fee covers both semesters of Voyagers.
Class Fees: Class fees are collected before each semester. They typically range from $5-$15 per class per child to cover the cost of supplies (books, arts and crafts, snacks, etc.)  for each class.

Format: Classes are divided up by age groups so that our children can enjoy fun, age-appropriate activities with children their own age. Parents and their children can sign up for their preferred classes each semester, although placement is done on a first-come, first-serve basis through our online class registration process.

Daily Schedule:

12:45 – 12:55       Arrival time
1:00 – 1:20          Assembly and announcements
1:20 – 2:15           First hour of classes
2:20 – 3:15           Second hour of classes
3:15 – 3:30            Dismissal / clean-up
2017-2018 Calendar: 
Parent Orientation Meeting: There will be two dates for orientation. Attending ONE of the orientation meetings is mandatory for ALL members. The orientation meeting will provide members with all the information they need for this year in Voyagers including co-op guidelines and expectations. Orientation will be held on the following dates:
Thursday, August 17th at 7:00 p.m. at Heatherwood Baptist Church
Monday, August 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Heatherwood Baptist Church
Orientation is designed for parents. Childcare is not provided during orientation.

Class Registration: Class descriptions and registration forms will be available in advance via email for all Voyagers members. For all but the youngest classes (Pre-K 4) there will be at least 2 class choices each hour. Registration forms will be submitted online. Details about online registration will be given in advance via email.

Payment Drop-off: Payment for classes is due prior to the beginning of each semester.  Payment for fall semester classes is due Thursday, September 7th.

Classes Start: The fun begins September 14th. We look forward to seeing you there!
